Nearly half (49%) of these launches were in the Hot Drinks category, with Tea emerging as the leading subcategory packaged in biodegradable materials. Furthermore, the Baby & Toddlers category showed the fastest growth, with a 132% growth rate over five years.
Glass packaging innovation

Thirty-six percent of these launches in 2023 were Sauces & Seasonings, with a substantial increase in the Fruit & Vegetables sector. Additionally, 81% of these glass packaging launches had Recyclable claims.
Circular economy: Reusables

Sauces & seasonings were the top category for reusable packaging in 2023. Meanwhile, there was a 106% growth in the incorporation of reusable packaging claims within Meat, Fish & Eggs packaging.

The top packaging materials for easter launches were Plastic – Not Specified (59%), Aluminum Foil (42%) and Cartons (29%). Less than 1 out of 3 launches had a Recyclable packaging claim.
Beauty products packaging

Most products remained to be packaged in Plastic material, and Rigid tube was the top packaging type, registering nearly a quarter of launches. Recyclable was the top environmental packaging claim, while compostable, reusable and plastic-free claims grew.
Baby & Toddlers packaging innovation
